Electric Zamboni

That’s right folks.  The Olympics may be in Canada this year, but the three Canadian-made electric Zambonis were not up to the task of caring for the 2010 Winter Games’ surfaces.  All three machines succumbed to mechanical and electrical issues, causing major delays to the games.  Finally, to avoid further embarassement, the Candians brought in a CNG powered Zamboni from California-based Zamboni.  For more details, head on over to Jalopnik.

Is Buick planning a Regal wagon? The signs all say yes…eventually…

Opel Insignia wagon

If you take a look at the evidence, it seems pretty clear that Buick is planning on bringing a Buick Regal wagon to the United States sometime in the near-to-short term future.  Let me lay it out for you.  First Buick shows off the Regal sedan and then says it will come to the US (basically a rebadged version of the Opel Insignia.)  Then Bob Lutz says GM is looking at a high performance Regal GS and a wagon.  Then the Regal GS concept shows up at the Detroit Auto Show in January.  Well now a fleet of Insignia wagons has shown up in the U.S. and was seen sitting with a bunch of Buick Regal sedans.  For more details, head on over to Jalopnik.

What makes the newest NASA Mars rover, “Curiosity” so advanced?  Well how about the fact that it’s nuclear powered!  This rover is roughly the size of a Mini Cooper and weighs in just under 1 ton.  It is expected to be touching down on the martian surface in 2013.  For more details, head on over to Jalopnik!

The 2010 Camaro has been a pretty big hit for GM and it appears that the convertible is coming along nicely to help carry sales next year.  For now, enjoy this spy shot, courtesy of Jalopnik.  Let us know what you think in the comments!

A poor 2010 Camaro SS meets its maker in Cincinnati…

The link to Jalopnik shows more shots of the carnage you see above, but basically the story goes like this.  Some idiot was acting like an idiot in his Camaro SS and manged to basically cut the car in half with a telephone pole.  He managed to walk away with nothing more than a cut on his head!  Unbelievable!  Just goes to show you how well built the new Camaro is I guess…

2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Sure the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.  It is a wagon after all.  However, the CTS Sport Wagon is probably one of the sharpest wagons I have ever seen!  It offers stunning looks from just about every angle, it’s more useful than your average sedan, and somehow it looks even more classy.  The Sport Wagon is just another part of GM’s revival, so head on over to Jalopnik for the full review.

2010 Ford Mustang GT

Motor Trend magazine has decided to take some bits and pieces of information from Ford sources and try to figure out what the next Mustang will feature.  They have made three guesses and all but one are directions Ford could logically take.  Some feature the same live axel but more modern I4 and V6 EcoBoost powertrains, others an independent rear suspension and still others feature AWD.  For more details on this story, head on over to Jalopnik.

2011 Lincoln MKX

The vehicle above is the new 2011 Lincoln MKX.  This 5-passenger crossover has been given the new corporate grille that has been seen on the Lincoln MKS, MKZ and MKT.  New to any vehicle in Ford’s lineup is MyLincoln Touch.  MyLincoln Touch is the name for the new SYNC and signature Human Machine Interface that allows just about every function of the vehicle to be controlled by simple voice commands.  There are also no buttons on the center stack, that’s right folks, none!  For more details, head on over to Jalopnik.

2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X is a track ready monster

2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 has always been an insanely fast car.  So what did Viper engineers decide to do?  Make an even faster version called the ACR.  The ACR knocked out the track record at the Nurburgring in Germany and has sold fairly well.  So, what did Viper engineers decide to do?  Make an even harder core version called the ACR-X.  The car features a full roll cage, unrestricted exhaust, and 40 more horsepower.  It’s not street legal, but who cares?  It’s sweet!  For more details and great photos, head on over to Jalopnik.

500x_chile_raptor

I don’t have much news on this one, other than two gentlemen from Chile are running a mostly stock Ford F-150 SVT Raptor in the Dakar Rally.  They have successfully completed four stages of the rally.  For slightly more, head on over to Jalopnik.
