Fiesta beats Lamborghini! Also, begins production in Cuautitlán assembly plant
Well, sort of – check out this hilariously awesome video of a comparison of the Ford Fiesta and a Lamborghini.
Ford has finally begun production of the highly acclaimed Fiesta B-car in its Cuautitlán, Mexico assembly plant. The car will be available in June and is expected to compete with the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris.

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is getting close to sale here in the United States and Autoblog has had a go at both a manual version and an automatic, the sedan and the hatchback, and their review is quite good. They do have some negatives to point out, like how the soft touch IP looks much better than the non-soft touch door trims, but what competitor in this class offers even half the features or looks of the Fiesta? None! The Nissan Versa is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen, the Toyota Yaris is downright boring (what Toyota isn’t?) and the Honda Fit is rather uninspiring. Bloomberg survey says Americans are turning away from Toyota, heading over to Ford!
More good news for the Dearborn, Michigan based Ford Motor Company. According to a Bloomberg survey 36% of Americans have a negative view of Toyota, and only 49% have a favorable view of them. While this news wouldn’t normally be that big of a deal, companies go through good times and bad no matter who they are, the big story here is Ford. A staggering 77% of Americans have a favorable opinion of FoMoCo, which is 7% better than Honda!
As Autoblog points out, there are several reasons why the survey results most likely came out in this way. First, Ford did not take government assistance, nor did they file for bankruptcy like General Motors or Chrysler. Second, Ford is making some amazing products; probably the best products they have ever made in their 100+ year history. Cars like the 2011 Mustang and 2010 Fusion that are not only more powerful than the previous model year, but are also more fuel efficient. The F-150 has been a best seller for over 30 years and new products like the Transit Connect and Fiesta are already huge hits with consumers.

Check out Ken Block testing in his Ford Fiesta rally car!
The video above shows a bit of what goes into preparing yourself for a rally car race. Block will be driving in his new Ford Fiesta, prepped for racing of course. Here’s to hoping Ken Block does better than a DNF at last months Sno*Drift.

The folks over at Kicking Tires have managed to grab some photos of the 2012 Chevrolet Aveo from a presentation given by Bob Lutz. It has a much improved exterior, and it needs to, what with the new Ford Fiesta coming out this summer. The biggest news is the heavily improved interior, which features a really impressive two-tone design. For more shots of the car you see above, head on over to Kicking Tires.

Check out some new video of Ken Block and his rally Ford Fiesta!
So Ken Block didn’t finish the Sno-Drift event in Michigan this past weekend. He still had plenty of time to create the awesome footage you see above, so enjoy!
Check out Ken Block and his new Ford Fiesta Rally car in action!!!
This video was shot during sno-drift testing in Michigan and boy is it insane! I couldn’t imagine flying through the woods at speeds like that, on studless tires no less!
While the video above doesn’t show any actual drifting or rally racing, it is still pretty cool. The video shows Ken Block and his new Ford ride. Glad to see Ken finally chose to go with a winner, as Subaru hasn’t done much in the past few years.

A gas-electric hybrid vehicle is much more efficient when driving in your typical stop-and-go city driving. The electric powertrain recaptures braking energy which is then used to power the vehicle back up to speed when you take off again. Well what about when you drive on the freeway? A diesel engine provides cars like the Ford Fiesta in Europe with gas mileage in the 50 mpg range! So what if you paired the two? Well GM is working on advanced hybrids that take advantage of the diesel engine’s efficiencies at highway speed to increase both city and highway fuel mileage.
