Pretty in Pink: Dodge celebrate four decades of the Challenger with Furious Fuchsia edition…

I don’t really know what to say about these two. I’m not a fan of the color. I’m not really into retro all that much. White interiors are a bitch to keep clean. With only 400 slated for production though, I guess Dodge didn’t think it would be that hard to sell so few. The cars you see above are in a color called Furious Fuchsia and is available on either an R/T or SRT8 Challenger. For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Dodge released this ad during the Super Bowl to try and convince men that they need a Dodge Charger. Here’s to hoping it works, without offending women everywhere.

Apparently the picture above is just one of the several found online by Carscoop of what appears to be patent drawings of the next Dodge Durango. Only reports are now saying that the vehicle could drop the Durango name and instead launch with the Magnum title. If you remember, Magnum was the name for the low-roof wagon that Dodge offered for several years off the Chrysler 300 underpinnings. Whatever the name, it appears to be a much sharper looking vehicle than the outgoing Durango it would replace.

New Dodge Charger ad targets men…more specifically, men who don’t have a man bag
This new Dodge Charger commercial has popped up on the internet and TV’s across the country. Lets us know how you feel about the Charger being described by telling viewers what it isn’t. Like a man bag. Or “mandals.”
Don’t forget about Ram! Will the Ram get new models like the rest of Chrysler’s products?

In the past week, Chrysler has released information on special edition Jeeps, Dodges, and Chryslers, but I never stopped to think about Chrysler’s newest brand, Ram. Will the Ram be getting new models too? Well, according to PickupTrucks.com, Chrysler has two names trademarked that haven’t been mentioned yet, and those names are Laramie Prospector and Laramie Western Sky. They believe these models will be released at next month’s Chicago Auto Show. I guess only time will tell, so stay tuned for the latest from Truth About Domestics.

The Dodge Viper SRT10 has always been an insanely fast car. So what did Viper engineers decide to do? Make an even faster version called the ACR. The ACR knocked out the track record at the Nurburgring in Germany and has sold fairly well. So, what did Viper engineers decide to do? Make an even harder core version called the ACR-X. The car features a full roll cage, unrestricted exhaust, and 40 more horsepower. It’s not street legal, but who cares? It’s sweet! For more details and great photos, head on over to Jalopnik.
Chrysler turns to Fiat for some new powertrain technologies…

While it may be awhile before we see any products here in the U.S. from Fiat, it may not be so long before we see Chrysler products featuring Fiat technology. Chrysler and Fiat will be sharing powertrain technologies in future products going forward, a move that Chrysler says will help increase their overall fuel-efficiency by 25% by 2014. There will be two new four-cylinder engines and a new V6 as well. The four-bangers will displace 1.4L and 2.4L and may feature turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve displacement too. All versions of the engines should produce 10-15% more power while decreasing emissions by 10%. For more details, including what products we can see these engines in, head on over to Autoblog.

In a move similar to Jeep, Dodge to get several special edition models!

Dodge doesn’t have any new models to show at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, so instead it will be showing off several special edition models. The one pictured above is the Dodge Nitro Detonator edition. It’s a pretty sharp looking package, however it is just that, a looker. There will be no performance upgrades in this small ‘ute’s future. The Dodge Caliber, Avenger, Challenger and Viper SRT10 are all getting special editions of their own too. For all of the details, head on over to Autoblog.

Mopar releases Performance Appearance Package for Dodge Challenger!

Just as the title implies, there is a new appearance package out for the Dodge Challenger. Called the “Performance Appearance Package” by Mopar, the visual touches include a hood scoop, “Go-Wing” rear spoiler, and side stripes. There are also some interior bits available, but sadly, none of these parts will actually make your Challenger any faster. For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Chrysler brings out new ad to remind people that they’ve been around awhile…
Chrysler’s new ad (seen above) shows how long Chrysler has been around, and hopefully they will be around for another 85 years (at least.) Did you know, Walter Chrysler invented the “ridged rim” for tire wheels, designed to keep tires from flying off when deflated? For more, head on over to Autoblog.
