Good Samaritan uses CTS Caddy to stop purse thief!

This purse thief in China thought he was going to get away free and clear.  That is until this Good Samaritan came to the rescue.  Seems he saw the purse get nabbed and decided to chase the perp and actually cut him off, causing him to fly up onto the hood of the Caddy.

This just goes to show you kids, crime doesn’t pay.  Stay in school and buy a Cadillac CTS!

When Cadillac released the CTS-V a year ago, it blew away the competition from Audi, from BMW and from Mercedes-Benz.  This January, GM decided a CTS-V Coupe would really get people excited about a performance Caddy.  This week at the New York International Auto Show General Motors will be showing off the production-intent version of the CTS-V Sport Wagon!  In my opinion, the CTS Sport Wagon is one of the best looking wagons on the market today.  It also provides excellent handling and returns decent fuel economy.  The V-series will just up the performance ante to the tune of 556 horsepower and 551 pound feet of torque.  For all of the details, head on over to Autoblog.

2008 Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept

I don’t really know why automakers have embargoes restricting the flow of information on new vehicles until certain days and times.  It never fails that the information ends up on the internet ahead of the scheduled event and it has sort of happened again.  It appears that the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe ordering guide has wound up online.  There are some interesting tidbits, such as the fact that the sunroof does not slide, it merely tilts open.  For all of the details, head on over to GM Inside News.

One of the things many enthusiasts have loved about the Cadillac CTS-V are the optional Recaro power-adjustable sport seats.  They have thicker side bolsters, an adjustable seat cushion and look downright amazing.  Well Cadillac has decided to offer these seats on the V6 powered CTS sedan and coupe (not the Sportwagon for some odd reason…) for the low, low, low price of $2,800!  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

According to Automotive news (via Autoblog) General Motors is planning for its next generation 2-mode hybrid system to be 25% smaller, while packing 20% more power.  This is good news, but the best bit comes from the statement that GM’s next hybrid systems (due out around 2013) will be less expensive for customers and GM alike, meaning more availability and more potential for profits for GM.  On top of that, GM’s vice chairman of global product operations Tom Stephens says that the new system will still be available in SUV’s and trucks, but that it will also find its way into rear-wheel drive platforms.  The money is on the next generation CTS and ATS from Cadillac, as those vehicles will command a premium to begin with, why not tack on the hybrid powertrain cost too.

2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Sure the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.  It is a wagon after all.  However, the CTS Sport Wagon is probably one of the sharpest wagons I have ever seen!  It offers stunning looks from just about every angle, it’s more useful than your average sedan, and somehow it looks even more classy.  The Sport Wagon is just another part of GM’s revival, so head on over to Jalopnik for the full review.

Sales of the Cadillacs and Corvettes to resume in Europe!

General Motors has had a rough go at it these past few years.  What with the need for government bailouts and then filing for bankruptcy, things haven’t been harder really.  On top of that, GM’s distributor for Cadillacs and Corvettes in Europe went bust, meaning those cars haven’t been available in Europe for almost a year.  Well it now appears that GM has corrected that issue, reportedly in talks with about 30 dealerships around Europe to bring over the entire Corvette lineup, as well as the Cadillac CTS (coupe, sedan and wagon,) Escalade, CTS-V and SRX.  No word on pricing or availability yet, so stay tuned for more.  Until then, head on over to Autoblog.

Cadillac Unveils the 2011 CTS Coupe

So it may not be the most collectible car passing across the auction block at this year’s Barrett-Jackson auction at Scottsdale, Arizona, but the profits go to the College for Creative Studies.  The car I’m talking about is the first production 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe that will roll off the production assembly line.  The cost to own the very first of these sexy looking little coupes?  About $95,700.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The Cadillac CTS has been a pretty big success, proving that the Americans can build a luxury car to compete with the foreign automakers.  Well this year the CTS sedan will be joined by two more body styles; the Sportwagon and Coupe.  Both the Coupe and Sportwagon variants have been shown, but at the Detroit Auto Show, GM is rolling out the big guns.  They are showing the CTS-V version of the coupe.

For all of the details, head on over to Autoblog.
