The CTS-V Coupe is taking on all competitors, both foreign and American!
The CTS-V Coupe is probably one of the most exciting designs to come out of General Motors in decades. It also has one of the most potent engines ever produced by the General, a 6.2L supercharged V8 with 556 hp. In the videos below, you will see Motor Trend pit it against an Audi RS5 and a BMW M3, Car and Driver set the CTS-V Coupe against the same pair but without any words, and now Road & Track has set the new Caddy against the 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Check out all three videos and let us know what you think!
Cadillac has decided to take a different route with its commercials and marketing scheme. The new tagline, “The Mark of Leadership,” will hopefully work out well for the brand as it struggles to gain marketshare. Check out the three new ads below!

Cadillac gets serious about fighting the Germans; releases pics of the CTS-V Sport Wagon!
When Cadillac released the CTS-V a year ago, it blew away the competition from Audi, from BMW and from Mercedes-Benz. This January, GM decided a CTS-V Coupe would really get people excited about a performance Caddy. This week at the New York International Auto Show General Motors will be showing off the production-intent version of the CTS-V Sport Wagon! In my opinion, the CTS Sport Wagon is one of the best looking wagons on the market today. It also provides excellent handling and returns decent fuel economy. The V-series will just up the performance ante to the tune of 556 horsepower and 551 pound feet of torque. For all of the details, head on over to Autoblog.

The video above shows what 700 horsepower (the engine is rated at 707 but Hennessey says peak power is more like 735) will do to a CTS-V. The car is insanely quick, able to accelerate with enough force to set off the OnStar crash sensors and prompt a call from one of their spokespeople. Enjoy!
Cadillac to offer Recaro sport seats on V6 CTS sedan and coupe!

One of the things many enthusiasts have loved about the Cadillac CTS-V are the optional Recaro power-adjustable sport seats. They have thicker side bolsters, an adjustable seat cushion and look downright amazing. Well Cadillac has decided to offer these seats on the V6 powered CTS sedan and coupe (not the Sportwagon for some odd reason…) for the low, low, low price of $2,800! For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Sales of the Cadillacs and Corvettes to resume in Europe!

General Motors has had a rough go at it these past few years. What with the need for government bailouts and then filing for bankruptcy, things haven’t been harder really. On top of that, GM’s distributor for Cadillacs and Corvettes in Europe went bust, meaning those cars haven’t been available in Europe for almost a year. Well it now appears that GM has corrected that issue, reportedly in talks with about 30 dealerships around Europe to bring over the entire Corvette lineup, as well as the Cadillac CTS (coupe, sedan and wagon,) Escalade, CTS-V and SRX. No word on pricing or availability yet, so stay tuned for more. Until then, head on over to Autoblog.

The Cadillac CTS has been a pretty big success, proving that the Americans can build a luxury car to compete with the foreign automakers. Well this year the CTS sedan will be joined by two more body styles; the Sportwagon and Coupe. Both the Coupe and Sportwagon variants have been shown, but at the Detroit Auto Show, GM is rolling out the big guns. They are showing the CTS-V version of the coupe.

The video above shows a Cadillac CTS-V hitting 10.35 in the quarter mile at an incredible 136.72 mph! It’s pretty amazing what 810 horsepower can do. Like to see someone try this in a Camry. For more information on the car, or the Vette Doctors who tuned it, head on over to the Tampa Sports Car Examiner.
