GM an OnStar unveil mobile apps for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt!
The two videos above show some apps that GM and OnStar have planned for the new uber-high tech, 2011 Chevrolet Volt! The first video shows how you will be able to use OnStar and your mobile phone to control things like the locks, remote starting, and even set charging times for your Volt! The second video shows you just what the Volt driving experience will be from the driver’s seat. It shows the information that will be displayed on not one, but two LCD video screens! Cadillac XTS, GMC Granite and Chevy Aveo RS all to be revealed at NAIAS!

According to GM’s vice president of communications, Chris Preuss, General Motors has some pretty big concepts to unveil at this years Detroit Auto Show. The Cadillac XTS will be shown as the replacement for the ages old DTS sedan. GMC will be showing the Granite off as the sibling to the Chevrolet Orlando, both built on the new Delta platform. Chevrolet will be showing off the new Aveo RS, supposedly more shapely than the current Aveo. Buick will also have a high performance version of the 2011 Regal, so stay tuned for more news from the 2010 North American International Auto Show. For now, head on over to Autoblog.

GM increases incentives to help dealers move out leftover Saturns and Pontiacs

General Motors is pushing close to $7,000 at dealers in order to move the remaining Saturn and Pontiac models sitting on dealer lots. The move comes as GM was forced to close down 4 brands (Hummer, Saab, Saturn and Pontiac) leaving only GMC, Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet left. Sales of the Saturn and Pontiac brands were down sharply this year, which is to be expected, I mean, who would really want to buy a brand that will no longer be around come spring of 2010? Domestics secure #1 spot of Top 10 Selling cars of 2009; take 3 other spots as well!

It’s always good to see an American automobile on the top of the best selling cars list for 2009…we are after all, in America. The Ford F-150 managed to take the #1 spot again for the umpteenth year in a row, and the Chevrolet Silverado wasn’t far behind in the #3 spot. Domestics claim 5 of the top 10 Most Significant Trucks of the Decade!

PickupTrucks.com has put together a list of the most significant trucks of the past ten years and the Domestics have taken 5 of the top 10 spots! Vehicles like the Chevrolet Avalanche and Ford F-150 SVT Raptor were vehicles that broke the mold for a full production vehicle.
