S.O.B!  What does a 16 year old need a brand new Camaro for?  Oh well, better than getting him a Hyundai Genesis Coupe or some other foreign garbage like that.

2011 Buick Regal

General Motors has announced that production of the Camaro convertible and the 2011 Buick Regal will start in the first quarter of 2011.  The Regal goes on sale this summer, with the initial units being shipped in from Germany until production can commence here in North America.  The Camaro convertible joins the hot selling Camaro coupe when it goes on sale early next year.  The addition of these two cars brings about 700 jobs back to the Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant that builds the Camaro now.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

A poor 2010 Camaro SS meets its maker in Cincinnati…

The link to Jalopnik shows more shots of the carnage you see above, but basically the story goes like this.  Some idiot was acting like an idiot in his Camaro SS and manged to basically cut the car in half with a telephone pole.  He managed to walk away with nothing more than a cut on his head!  Unbelievable!  Just goes to show you how well built the new Camaro is I guess…

2011 Mustang gives you way more bang for only a little more coin!

2011 Mustang GT

Both the V6 and V8 versions of the 2011 Mustang offer you way more power than the 2010 powertrains they replace, and they do it for only modest increases in price!  The 3.7L V6 packs over 300 horsepower and gets 30 miles per gallon and will only set you back $750 more than the outgoing model, and it’s still over $500 less than a comparably equipped Camaro.  The legendary five-oh is back in the V8 model and will cost around $1,250 more than the 4.6L 2010 it replaces, still $1,300 cheaper than a 1SS equipped 6.2L Camaro.  The full pricing guide can be found at The Mustang Source.  Or you can head on over to Autoblog to check out the gallery and also the pricing guide in case it gets pulled down.

2011 Ford Mustang GT 9

The 2010 Ford Mustang brought an updated interior and refreshed exterior to an otherwise great platform.  Sadly, the powertrains were carryover, and while quick, they lacked the power of their Camaro and Challenger competition.  The 2011 Ford Mustang changes all of that with a new V6 and a new V8.  The V6 is a 3.7L unit that packs over 300 horsepower and still manages 30 miles per gallon!  The V8 brings back the legendary 5.0L title and carries with it 412 horsepower!  For more great shots of this impressive new “Stang, head on over to our gallery!

SMS 620 Camaro

Steve Saleen’s new company, SMS Supercars, has made high performance versions of the 2010 Mustang and Challenger, and has now decided to turn its attention to the 2010 Camaro.  The performance upgrades are pretty similar, starting with the SMS supercharger that is added to boost the engine to 575 horsepower for the 620 version, of 715 hp for the 620X version.  Visual mods include 5-spoke wheels and induction hood.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

The Ford Mustang wins the 2009 pony car wars!

Camaro_V_Mustang

According to the year end sales figures from both Ford and General Motors, the Mustang has beaten the Camaro for overall pony car champion in 2009.  The redesigned 2010 Ford Mustang sold 66,623 units while the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro sold nearly as many copies, coming in second with 61,618 units sold in 2009.

While this might appear to be a clear win for the “Stang, you have to remember, the Camaro wasn’t on sale the full year, but then again, the 2010 Mustang only came on the scene in February.  The 2010 calendar year should paint a better picture of the true pony car wars, especially with the new 5.0L Mustang GT coming…for more details, head on over to Autoblog.

1002_21_z+2010_automobile+all_stars

Automobile magazine named it’s list of 2009’s All-Stars and the list has some big names on it.  Cars from Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Jaguar all made the list.  The surprises are the 4 domestic cars that made the list!  The Dodge Ram 1500, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Flex and Fusion all made the list!  This just shows you how good these cars really are!  What I can’t seem to put my finger on is which automakers are not in the 10 All-Star list…lets see…oh wow, NONE of the Japanese automakers made the list!  That’s SOO weird!  I thought their cars were the best of the best???  This surely must be a mistake.  Or the magazine just knows what true car fans know, that the Japanese cars are too boring to be All-Stars.  For more on the list, head on over to Automobile magazine.

2010 Camaro meets a fate few cars are unlucky enough to meet…

Ok, this car has pushed me to my breaking point.  It’s one thing to be totally into your school’s sports teams, but do you have to ruin a perfectly good 2010 Chevrolet Camaro in the process?  I mean, couldn’t he just have put a flag on it on game day or something?  Eh, not my car I guess.  Let us know what you think in the comments!
