Cadillac ATS to take on the best small luxury line-ups in the world!?

That’s right folks. Cadillac is serious about being a major player in the luxury car world again, so instead of fighting the bigger cars that are out there, they are going small. The car dubbed the “ATS” will slot in below the CTS and will be offered initially as a sedan, but will eventually spawn coupe, convertible and wagon variants. Jalopnik reviews the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon and they really like it!

Sure the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It is a wagon after all. However, the CTS Sport Wagon is probably one of the sharpest wagons I have ever seen! It offers stunning looks from just about every angle, it’s more useful than your average sedan, and somehow it looks even more classy. The Sport Wagon is just another part of GM’s revival, so head on over to Jalopnik for the full review.

Cadillac adjusts pricing on CTS Sport Wagon in an effort to stop SRX cross-shopping

Until recently, the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon started at just a shade over $40k. That’s nearly $6,000 more than the SRX crossover. Ouch! Shoppers felt the same way, and have been passing up the Sport Wagon in favor of the angular SRX. While any sale is a good sale for Cadillac, they still want to push the Sport Wagon, so the decision makers have decided to drop the price by $1,300. This lowers the base price for a CTS Sport Wagon to $38,265, or roughly $4935 more than an SRX. Hopefully this plan works, as the Sport Wagon is one of the best looking wagons in years. So it may not be the most collectible car passing across the auction block at this year’s Barrett-Jackson auction at Scottsdale, Arizona, but the profits go to the College for Creative Studies. The video above just shows how awesome the new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is…me likey!

The Cadillac CTS has been a pretty big success, proving that the Americans can build a luxury car to compete with the foreign automakers. Well this year the CTS sedan will be joined by two more body styles; the Sportwagon and Coupe. Both the Coupe and Sportwagon variants have been shown, but at the Detroit Auto Show, GM is rolling out the big guns. They are showing the CTS-V version of the coupe.

Cadillac CTS wins Consumer Reports luxury sedan comparison…and is still not recommended…

People seem to just love Consumer Reports. I often feel alone in this world when I talk about my dislike for that magazine. They have always appeared to be biased in my opinion. Take their latest luxury car comparison for example. They gave the Cadillac CTS the win by 4 points over its nearest competitor, and yet the car is still not recommended! A CR recommendation is only given out to a car based on reliability, not on how good of a car it really is. So the CTS is the best luxury car out there…yet its not reliable so they can’t recommend it? If reliability is such a high mark for CR, why don’t they include that as part of their test? Whatever, for more, head on over to Autoblog.
