Cadillac has decided to take a different route with its commercials and marketing scheme. The new tagline, “The Mark of Leadership,” will hopefully work out well for the brand as it struggles to gain marketshare. Check out the three new ads below!
Cadillac to offer Recaro sport seats on V6 CTS sedan and coupe!

One of the things many enthusiasts have loved about the Cadillac CTS-V are the optional Recaro power-adjustable sport seats. They have thicker side bolsters, an adjustable seat cushion and look downright amazing. Well Cadillac has decided to offer these seats on the V6 powered CTS sedan and coupe (not the Sportwagon for some odd reason…) for the low, low, low price of $2,800! Is a RWD hybrid powertrain destined for the next generation of Cadillacs?

According to Automotive news (via Autoblog) General Motors is planning for its next generation 2-mode hybrid system to be 25% smaller, while packing 20% more power. This is good news, but the best bit comes from the statement that GM’s next hybrid systems (due out around 2013) will be less expensive for customers and GM alike, meaning more availability and more potential for profits for GM. On top of that, GM’s vice chairman of global product operations Tom Stephens says that the new system will still be available in SUV’s and trucks, but that it will also find its way into rear-wheel drive platforms. The money is on the next generation CTS and ATS from Cadillac, as those vehicles will command a premium to begin with, why not tack on the hybrid powertrain cost too.

GM to move Camaro to “Alpha” platfrom with Cadillac ATS?

In a recent Motor Trend article, some speculation has begun on the next generation Camaro. That’s right, the 5th gen hasn’t been out much more than a year, and already GM is thinking ahead. Could this be a sign of a new and improved GM? Lets hope so. Anyway, the Trend as I’m going to call them, is claiming that GM could move the 6th generation Camaro to the same platform as the upcoming Cadillac ATS. The ATS will slot in below the CTS (which will also be on the platform) so this could be a good way for the General to help lower per vehicle costs on the as yet unnamed platform. This strategy seems pretty smart as all three cars will need to lower their weight to improve fuel economy and performance figures. For more, head on over to the Trend.

Cadillac ATS to take on the best small luxury line-ups in the world!?

That’s right folks. Cadillac is serious about being a major player in the luxury car world again, so instead of fighting the bigger cars that are out there, they are going small. The car dubbed the “ATS” will slot in below the CTS and will be offered initially as a sedan, but will eventually spawn coupe, convertible and wagon variants. Sales of the Cadillacs and Corvettes to resume in Europe!

General Motors has had a rough go at it these past few years. What with the need for government bailouts and then filing for bankruptcy, things haven’t been harder really. On top of that, GM’s distributor for Cadillacs and Corvettes in Europe went bust, meaning those cars haven’t been available in Europe for almost a year. Well it now appears that GM has corrected that issue, reportedly in talks with about 30 dealerships around Europe to bring over the entire Corvette lineup, as well as the Cadillac CTS (coupe, sedan and wagon,) Escalade, CTS-V and SRX. No word on pricing or availability yet, so stay tuned for more. Until then, head on over to Autoblog.

GM to offer “Pause and Play” radio feature in Regal and Cruze!

General Motors currently has two vehicles on the market that offer a “Pause and Play” feature on the radio. Those two vehicles are the Cadillac CTS and the Buick LaCrosse and what “Pause and Play” allows you to do is basically treat your radio like your home TV DVR. You can pause and record up to 20 minutes of radio, from AM, FM, XM or Sirius and then play it back at a later time. The technology has until now only been fitted in more upscale cars, but word is out that it will now be offered on the 2011 Buick Regal and the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. It’s always nice to see technologies being offered in both the high and low end of the buying spectrum. For more information, head on over to Autoblog.

The spy photos over at burlappcars.com show what could be the new Cadillac ATS, a sedan slated to be smaller than the current CTS. The folks at Autoblog however seem to think it is far more likely that this car is the Converj, based on what they saw last summer at GM’s design studios. Check out the pics and you be the judge.

Cadillac CTS wins Consumer Reports luxury sedan comparison…and is still not recommended…

People seem to just love Consumer Reports. I often feel alone in this world when I talk about my dislike for that magazine. They have always appeared to be biased in my opinion. Take their latest luxury car comparison for example. They gave the Cadillac CTS the win by 4 points over its nearest competitor, and yet the car is still not recommended! A CR recommendation is only given out to a car based on reliability, not on how good of a car it really is. So the CTS is the best luxury car out there…yet its not reliable so they can’t recommend it? If reliability is such a high mark for CR, why don’t they include that as part of their test? Whatever, for more, head on over to Autoblog.
