In an interesting bit of news, General Motors announced that the 2011 Buick Regal would be entering production in early 2011 at the Oshawa assembly plant in Ontario. Then they slipped in a bit of news that the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible would also be starting production at that time. Say what!? The Mustang will finally have some drop top muscle car competition and that can’t be bad for sales. For more, head on over to Autoblog.

A study from a company called Quality Planning shows the 10 least ticketed vehicles in the country and it just so happens that 8 of the vehicles are (or were) produced by General Motors. The writers at Jalopnik say that it’s because many of the vehicles are Buicks (3) or that they are a large truck or SUV (5). I however see a different spin on this, and that is that foreign cars probably didn’t make the list because they are often driven by foreigners…and that’s a story for another time. Anyway, let us know what you think in the comments!

Jalopnik drives the 2011 Buick Regal and walk away very impressed!

I know, it’s hard to believe, but Jalopnik actually liked the 2011 Buick Regal! Can you blame them though, I mean, the car is based on the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia which has won tons of awards and is a top-seller. They have pretty much only one complaint about the car and that is…well, why don’t you just head on over to Jalopnik to find out what it is!

Going through bankruptcy and loosing $1.15 billion last quarter does not seem like very good news for General Motors; but there is a silver lining to this dark cloud. According to Edmunds.com, consumer interest and product consideration is up for all four of GM’s brands.
Edmunds.com measured consumer consideration by tracking the percentage of site visitors who viewed pages about a specific vehicle or brand. Since January of this year, Buick consideration increased from 1.35% to 2.71%, Cadillac consideration increased from 2.42% to 3.18%, Chevrolet consideration increased from 10.79% to 11.56%, and GMC consideration increased from 2.78% to 3.83%.
This is great news for GM, and proves that the new products that it is launching are very desirable.
