In more Mustang related news, EcoBoost not currently in the plans…
Ford Motor Company currently has no plans to introduce an EcoBoost equipped version of the Mustang and frankly, why would they? Sure the immediate surge in torque provided by the direct-injected and twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 is exciting but is it really what a Mustang customer wants? The recently introduced 3.7L V6 and 5.0L V8 engines for the 2011 Mustang make impressive amounts of power while still returning very respectable fuel economy figures. So for now, you will just have to enjoy “only” 305 V6 horses or 412* V8 horsepower. For more, head on over to Autoblog.

General Motors and its CAW workforce have something to celebrate! Less than a year after production started, the 100,000th Camaro rolled off the assembly line in Oshawa, Ontario just last week. The car was an Inferno Orange Camaro SS. So far in 2009 the Camaro was outselling the segment leader, the Ford Mustang, but that was before a powertrain upgrade. Now the 2011 Mustang is packing nearly identical horsepower ratings in its V6 and V8 engines. We’ll just have to stay tuned to see which car ends up on top of the Muscle Car sales heap. 2011 Ford Mustang V6 achieves 31 mpg on the highway! Sets a new record in the process!
Ford Motor Company has another great story to tell about its One Ford transformation plan. This chapter talks about the 2011 Mustang V6. The 3.7L V6 will produce 305 horsepower while returning 31 mpg on the highway when equipped with an automatic. This makes the 2011 Mustang V6 the first car to ever produce more than 300 hp and hit 30 mpg + in EPA testing. Think about it, the first time ever a car has hit 300 + hp and 30 + mpg. Kudos to the Mustang team for showing people that performance and fuel efficiency can go hand in hand. It may not be as frugal as the boring and very homely Toyota Prius, but it wasn’t designed to be. For the full press release, head on over to Autoblog.

2011 Mustang sales are off to a hot start, hitting 11,000 orders before it’s even on sale!!
The 2010 Mustang featured a complete refresh of the interior and exterior but kept the same powertrains as the 2009 model. That apparently didn’t sit well with buyers as only 66,623 2010 Mustangs sold, the worst year on record. For 2011, the Mustang is packing two new powertrains and two new transmissions which are apparently helping sales. The 5.0L V8 coming back probably didn’t hurt any either, as Ford is reporting over 11,000 orders on the 2011 model already, three times more than the 2010 model had at this time. For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2011 Mustang gives you way more bang for only a little more coin!

Both the V6 and V8 versions of the 2011 Mustang offer you way more power than the 2010 powertrains they replace, and they do it for only modest increases in price! The 3.7L V6 packs over 300 horsepower and gets 30 miles per gallon and will only set you back $750 more than the outgoing model, and it’s still over $500 less than a comparably equipped Camaro. The legendary five-oh is back in the V8 model and will cost around $1,250 more than the 4.6L 2010 it replaces, still $1,300 cheaper than a 1SS equipped 6.2L Camaro. The full pricing guide can be found at The Mustang Source. Or you can head on over to Autoblog to check out the gallery and also the pricing guide in case it gets pulled down.

Check out the 2011 Ford Mustang GT California Special!
The 2010 Ford Mustang brought an updated interior and refreshed exterior to an otherwise great platform. Sadly, the powertrains were carryover, and while quick, they lacked the power of their Camaro and Challenger competition. The 2011 Ford Mustang changes all of that with a new V6 and a new V8. The V6 is a 3.7L unit that packs over 300 horsepower and still manages 30 miles per gallon! The V8 brings back the legendary 5.0L title and carries with it 412 horsepower! According to a report from PickupTrucks.com, Ford Motor Company plans to offer an F-150 with a V6 engine again. That engine will be the 3.7L V6 that will be found in the 2011 Mustang and Lincoln MKX and should be good for around 300 horsepower and 23-24 miles per gallon! Also stated in the article is the notion that Ford plans to offer the F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 as well. 2010 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for Ford indeed!
