The 2011 Ford Mustang V6 produces 305 hp and gets 30 mpg on the highway!
2010 saw an overall update of the Ford Mustang. It received new exterior sheetmetal, as well as an upgraded interior, that brought the car really up to world class standards. However, the powertrains were mostly carry-over from the 2009 model. That changes come this spring, when the 2011 Mustang V6 rolls into showrooms. It features Ford’s 3.7L V6, good for 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. This engine isn’t just about power though, it was designed with fuel efficiency in mind as well. So it appears that more news on the 2011 Ford Mustang has leaked via the interwebs (shocker!) and the news is pretty good. Mention of 6 speed transmissions, 19-inch wheels along with Brembo brakes and several other goodies brings tears of joy to my eyes. It’s good to see Ford updating their beloved pony car yet again even though the stunning new body and interior were just released for the 2010 model year. It appears as though Ford is getting ready to show the new engine and transmission offerings to the world at the LA Auto Show this December. How do we know? Uh oh! Did someone spill the beans on the 2011 Mustang!???
According to a source on The Mustang Source the Mustang is in for some serious upgrades in 2011. Who knows if any of the information is correct, but here’s to hoping it is! They are calling for a 315 hp 3.7L V6 in the base car, with the GT getting a 5.0L V8 and 400 or so hp. That is really impressive.
