Calling all Agents!! Ford hosting Fiesta Movement 2!

2011 Ford Fiesta

Ford’s current Fiesta Movement was a really great idea.  It put 100 European-spec Fiestas in the hands of 100 drivers and gave them free range to say what they wanted about the car; be it online, via print or any other media outlet they chose.  The car has a 60% recognition score which is big for a car on the market, yet the Fiesta won’t even be on sale until next year!  Well Ford has decided to look for people to participate in the Fiesta Movement 2!  This effort will focus more on the owning aspect of a Fiesta.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2011 Ford Fiesta

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is a pretty big deal for Ford in the U.S. as it marks the debut of one of its first global vehicles.  Not only that, but its also Ford’s smallest entry in the current car market, a B-sized vehicle.  The price of entry for Ford’s newest model?  The sedan starts at $13,320 and moves on up to $15,120 for the base hatchback.  Feel free to head on over to Ford’s Fiesta website to build your own.  If you reserve a car now, you can get SYNC for free!  Other details can be had at Autoblog.

2011 Ford Fiesta

If the images shown here and here at Autoblog are the real deal, then the North American spec Ford Fiesta has been revealed!  The first shows a picture reportedly from Ford of Canada, with the Fiesta wearing the North American three-bar grille, while the second shows two different grilles, one on the sedan and one on the hatchback.  Only time will tell though as to which is the real face of the Fiesta, when the car is unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.  So stay tuned for more, and check back later next week for our live pics from the show!

Chevrolet Spark

If things go well enough in the near term for GM, then we might see a version of the Spark here on our side of the pond.  This car has been on-again/off-again and it appears that it might now be in the near term.  The engine choices will offer up to 47 mpg and you can even get a “Big Gulp” cup holder!  If it does make an appearance here, it would be competing against the 2011 Ford Fiesta.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Meet Bryan Redeker, Fiesta Agent 22! I DID!!!!

On Friday night, around 10:00 PM, I parked next to one of the 100 Fiesta Movement vehicles in the parking lot of a P. F. Chang’s in Lansing, Michigan.  ”How cool!” I thought, what are the odds that I would run into of the 100 vehicles that were handed out as part of the Fiesta Movement?  Then to my surprise, I ran into the owner, Fiesta Agent 22, Bryan Redeker from Grand Haven, Michigan!  Another box can be checked off my list of things to do before I die.  Not only was Bryan enthusiastic about meeting me, a Ford engineer, but he is totally pumped for the U. S. launch of the Fiesta!

Why wouldn’t he be?  It’s one of the best looking B cars that will be available anywhere, and on top of that, it is fun to drive!  For more on the car, head on over to the Ford Vehicles website.

The European Fiestas that have been running around the country as part of the Fiesta Movement are very impressive!  Not only are they stylish but they are fun to drive and get rather impressive gas mileage!  Well the Fiesta is finally coming to North America next year, and this appears to be the first shots of what the NA Fiesta will look like.  In my opinion, it is still a very sharp looking vehicle, with very little large changes between the European model and the U.S. one.  For more pictures, head on over to Autoblog.

2011 Ford Fiesta to show it’s North American face at LA Auto Show!

All-new Ford Fiesta Sedan

The LA Auto Show has been pretty big for Ford in recent years.  Last years show featured the unveiling of the 2010 Mustang.  This years show will be home to the release of the 2011 Ford Fiesta.  Sure, you’re seen the Fiesta online a million times by now, what with the Fiesta Movement going on and all, but this will be the first time the North American version is seen by the public.  It is expected to only receive minor changes due to differences in crash regulations, but that’s about it!  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

The most interesting part to me is the fact that Ford is stating that they have 50,000 people interested in the car, and 97% of those do not currently own a Ford!

Ok, ok, so my headline is a bit cheesy.  Can you blame me?  I’m so excited about the products that are coming from all of the big three, so it’s great to see people are finally taking notice!  In this comparison between the 2010 Honda Fit and the 2011 Ford Fiesta, the Fiesta really makes its mark on the automotive world by offering things many drivers wouldn’t expect in the subcompact market.  For the full review, as well as the winner of the test, head on over to Edmunds.
