There are some perks to playing the game, including 5 winners every week receiving a prize and one lucky winner at the end of seven weeks earning a brand new Ford Taurus! Ford alters production mix to produce more SEL and SHO Taurus models

Ford has had mild success with the newest vehicle to wear the Taurus nameplate. The new model offers much nicer features than even cars above its price range, but it also has a higher price tag to go along with it. Now word has come out that dealers are low on the SEL and SHO models, meaning Ford has had to change its production mix. A similar issue has popped up on the F-150 Double Cab. This however means that cars are still selling at a fairly rapid clip. For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2010 Ford Taurus named International Car of the Year at LA Auto Show!!!

The 2010 Ford Taurus was named the International Car of the Year at the LA Auto Show and for good reason. The car features a fresh new exterior, bold interior layout, as well as an exciting powertrain option in the 3.5L EcoBoost V6. For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

2010 Ford Taurus named Official Car of the Consumer Electronics Show

The 2010 Ford Taurus has won several awards already. It was named Esquire magazine’s car of the year. Now it has been named the Official Car of the Consumer Electronics Show. I am not really surprised by this announcement. I mean, Alan Mulally, Ford’s CEO, was named as the keynote speaker for this years CES. Not to mention the Taurus is packed with tons of technology that you just can’t find in other cars, let alone at the price the Taurus is available at. Sales of new Taurus strong in California…do they know it’s a Ford???

Hopefully the fact that the new Taurus is a Ford isn’t shocking to people in California, land of the Prius and rolling blackouts. The 2010 Ford Taurus is a very strong looking car, with lots to offer in terms of styling, technology and amenities, and that has apparently worked in California…at least so far. Sales of the new model were up 60% in September of this year compared to the same month in 2008. Lets hope that this is a sign that people across the country are starting to see that the Americans can compete with the imports, and not only that, they can win too! Autoblog has had the chance to review the all new 2010 Ford Taurus SEL, and this paragraph sums it up best in my book:
“With the new-for-2010 Taurus, you get the overwhelming sense that Ford has created a vehicle that knows exactly what it can and can’t do. It delivers on style, comfort and features, while leaving the sportiness to lighter, more dynamic performers like Dearborn’s own Fusion. That can only help the Taurus compete against the likes of Toyota and Honda, and with customers placing more emphasis on value, the 2010 Taurus could give luxury stalwarts like the Cadillac DTS, Lexus ES, Acura RL and even the Lincoln MKS, something to worry about. But that can only happen if the new Taurus is bold enough and good enough for consumers to forgive Ford for its past sins with the Taurus. It’s time to get over it – and after a week – we have.”
You read it right there folks! The new Taurus is good enough to make you forget about the sins of the past. MOVE ON people, buy American again, it’s time! For the full review, head on over to Autoblog.

Ford says they did not design the 2010 Taurus (base price around $26,000) to compete with luxury cars costing $60,000 or more. That didn’t stop them from comparing the new Taurus to several luxury cars like the Lexus LS and the Acura RL. A spokesperson from Ford says the cars were chosen not to target luxury car buyers, but to showcase the advanced technologies in the Taurus that the more expensive cars do not even offer. Both videos above are well worth watching, so, enjoy!
2010 Ford Taurus and Taurus SHO ad campaign to begin airing August 4th!

Ford seemed to have a hit on their hands with the 2010 Fusion ads that claimed, “We speak car.” Well the Fusion is selling at record levels compared to last years numbers, so now the push begins to sell the brand new 2010 Taurus and its sporty, Ecoboost equipped sibling, the Taurus SHO. The ads focus mostly on the technological goodies that are packed into the Taurus, as well as items not found anywhere else like SYNC. For all of the details, as well as the comparison graphics, head on over to Jalopnik.
Ford will reduce average age of product lineup to 2.4 years!

Ford Motor Company has been having one heck of a year. First they were the only American automaker to not take government assistance. Then they were the only one to not file for bankruptcy. Now it’s being announced that they are going to have one of the freshest product lineups in the industry, thanks in part to the launch of 10 new or redesigned vehicles this year. This includes the new 2010 Ford Taurus, 2010 Lincoln MKT, 4 vehicles with Ecoboost, the new Fusion, Milan and MKZ, and more.
In addition to those vehicles, 5 more will be launched next year. The new Ford Fiesta being one, a new Focus, an electric version of the Transit Connect van, and a redesigned Super Duty pickup. For more details, head on over to The Detroit Free Press.
It’s nice to see that Ford hasn’t had to make any changes to its product revamp, and that even in these tough times they can afford to put out some really great products.
Ford plans to boost production to meet demand for its new vehicles

Ford CEO Alan “the Man” Mulally was recently quoted as saying that Ford plans to “[increase] production to support the desirability of Ford products.” What?? In this economy? What great news! Part of the reason for this could be the onslaught of new vehicles being released by Ford this year, including the 2010 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid which both lead their class in fuel economy. Or the 2010 Mustang which is priced lower than both it’s domestic and foreign competition while still maintaining quality leadership. Perhaps it’s the new 2010 Taurus, or the EcoBoost SHO version, or the EcoBoost 2010 Lincoln MKT and MKS? Whatever the reason, I’m glad to hear some more positive news on this last weekend of the first half of the year!
