2010 Hurst Mustang pace car

Another member of the Big 3 stepping up to help another charity.  This time the car being auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson is a 2010 Mustang GT convertible.  This is no ordinary convertible though, it’s the Hurst Mustang Pace Car from the Mustang Challenge race series.  The car features a Roush supercharger, special paint and wheels, plus it can flash its headlights alternately.  The car sold for $120,000 with the proceeds going to the Victory Junction children’s charity.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

The illusion you see above in the final episode of the 2010 Mustang Unleashed is pretty amazing!  Set in Las Vegas, the trick involves Vaughn Gittin Jr. and magician Steve Wyrick and…well, just watch the video to find out for yourself!

2011 Mustang 37L V6

2010 saw an overall update of the Ford Mustang.  It received new exterior sheetmetal, as well as an upgraded interior, that brought the car really up to world class standards.  However, the powertrains were mostly carry-over from the 2009 model.  That changes come this spring, when the 2011 Mustang V6 rolls into showrooms.  It features Ford’s 3.7L V6, good for 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.  This engine isn’t just about power though, it was designed with fuel efficiency in mind as well.  Ford estimates that the engine will be good for 30 mpg, making it the most fuel efficient car in its class.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Autoblog asks the tough questions: GT500 or GT-R???

2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

If given the choice between a 2010 Shelby GT500 Mustang and the do-it-all-for-you Nissan GT-R, which would you chose?  The choice is simple for me.  The Shelby.  Duh.  I would rather have the driver’s car, the car where you actually have to know how to drive in order to go really fast.  Sure the GT-R can be fun, but eventually Nissan will just make super cars with CVT’s because they give better gas mileage, it just doesn’t make sense.  For more, and to cast your vote, head on over to Autoblog.

The latest videos from Ford’s ’10 Unleashed series puts the 2010 Ford Mustang in a fairly unusual environment; a back roads rally!  Two rally racers, Mike Hurst and Mark Utecht, were given a mildly race prepped 2010 Mustang to compete against each other in a 4 stage rally race.  The result?  You have to watch for yourself in the videos above.  For more on the story, head on over to m80im.com!

A number of different tuner firms have laid their hands on the 2010 Mustang and turned out with varying results.  Those results will be shown at this years SEMA convention in Las Vegas from November 3rd-6th.  My personal favorite is pictured above, from 3dCarbon.  If you click on over to Autoblog, you can see the others, from Galpin Auto Sports, Steeda, H&R Springs and many more.  Let us know in the comments which one you like best and I will get pictures of it when I am at SEMA!
