Ford alters production mix to produce more SEL and SHO Taurus models

Ford has had mild success with the newest vehicle to wear the Taurus nameplate.  The new model offers much nicer features than even cars above its price range, but it also has a higher price tag to go along with it.  Now word has come out that dealers are low on the SEL and SHO models, meaning Ford has had to change its production mix.  A similar issue has popped up on the F-150 Double Cab.  This however means that cars are still selling at a fairly rapid clip.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Ford Work Solutions

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this coming January sounds to me like one big Ford commercial!  They were awarded with the key note address (to be given by CEO Alan Mulally) and then it was announced that the 2010 Ford Taurus is the Official Car of CES.  Now comes word that Ford was given awards for both the Sync connectivity software and the Work Solutions system for businesses on the go.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

The 2010 Ford Taurus has won several awards already.  It was named Esquire magazine’s car of the year.  Now it has been named the Official Car of the Consumer Electronics Show.  I am not really surprised by this announcement.  I mean, Alan Mulally, Ford’s CEO, was named as the keynote speaker for this years CES.  Not to mention the Taurus is packed with tons of technology that you just can’t find in other cars, let alone at the price the Taurus is available at.  For more details, head on over to The Car Connection blog.

The 2010 Ford Taurus and its performance sibling, the SHO, have been getting rave reviews ever since the car was unveiled a few months back.  Now that it’s hitting the road, the good news continues to pour in.  MSN Autos recently had the chance to drive a SHO and their reaction was positive all around.  They liked the power, performance, fuel efficency and technology that the car had to offer for such a reasonable price compared to the luxury crowd that you would have to look to to find a comparable package.  For the full story, please follow the link to MSN.

2010-Ford-Taurus

Hopefully the fact that the new Taurus is a Ford isn’t shocking to people in California, land of the Prius and rolling blackouts.  The 2010 Ford Taurus is a very strong looking car, with lots to offer in terms of styling, technology and amenities, and that has apparently worked in California…at least so far.  Sales of the new model were up 60% in September of this year compared to the same month in 2008.  Lets hope that this is a sign that people across the country are starting to see that the Americans can compete with the imports, and not only that, they can win too!  For more details, head on over to Autoblog!

2010 Ford Taurus review is a darn good one!

Autoblog has had the chance to review the all new 2010 Ford Taurus SEL, and this paragraph sums it up best in my book:

“With the new-for-2010 Taurus, you get the overwhelming sense that Ford has created a vehicle that knows exactly what it can and can’t do.  It delivers on style, comfort and features, while leaving the sportiness to lighter, more dynamic performers like Dearborn’s own Fusion.  That can only help the Taurus compete against the likes of Toyota and Honda, and with customers placing more emphasis on value, the 2010 Taurus could give luxury stalwarts like the Cadillac DTS, Lexus ES, Acura RL and even the Lincoln MKS, something to worry about.  But that can only happen if the new Taurus is bold enough and good enough for consumers to forgive Ford for its past sins with the Taurus.  It’s time to get over it – and after a week – we have.”

You read it right there folks!  The new Taurus is good enough to make you forget about the sins of the past.  MOVE ON people, buy American again, it’s time!  For the full review, head on over to Autoblog.

Brand new 2010 Taurus ads are pretty innovative

posted by Stephen @ 14:04 PM

Ford says they did not design the 2010 Taurus (base price around $26,000) to compete with luxury cars costing $60,000 or more.  That didn’t stop them from comparing the new Taurus to several luxury cars like the Lexus LS and the Acura RL.  A spokesperson from Ford says the cars were chosen not to target luxury car buyers, but to showcase the advanced technologies in the Taurus that the more expensive cars do not even offer.  Both videos above are well worth watching, so, enjoy!
