May 2009 sales figures have been released and it appears that Ford and GM fared far better than their Japanese competition. GM sales dropped 29.55% compared to May 2008, and Ford saw a sales drop of only 24.25% from the same time last year. Toyota, Honda and Nissan all posted larger drops in sales, at 40.72%, 41.46% and 33.10% respectively. The redesigned 2010 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid are just part of the success story there, while larger incentives are most likely the reason for the slightly lower drop at GM. 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid American Idol Edition (Ford)
If you happen to watch American Idol, then I’m sure you’ve seen the advertisements that Ford Motor Company is running with the show. In case you haven’t seen them, they’re painful to watch. Anyhow, for this season, Ford has decided to invite visitors to the American Idol website to register to enter the Ford Music Video Challenge. What’s that you say? It’s a competition that will give one lucky winner a grand prize of a trip to the shows finale and a one-off American Idol Edition Ford Fusion Hybrid!
This isn’t your ordinary hybrid though. This one will be equipped with headrest-mounted backseat video screens and an in-car karaoke set-up. An American Idol decal is also on the trunk, to let people know it’s not your run-of-the-mill Fusion Hybrid. For more, head on over to Autoblog.

2010 Ford Fusion Sport
Ford has been receiving some great reviews lately, and here’s another one: MSN reviewed the 2010 Ford Fusion in several trim forms and their opinion of the car is a good one. The article starts off by stating that the Fusion is the reason Ford hasn’t needed taxpayers bailout (BRIDGE LOAN) money yet, stating that it delivers on Ford’s promise to be a world-class midsize sedan. They also commend Ford for “leapfrogging the competition” with the electronics in the car, such as Sync, available 8-inch touch-screen navigation and customizable interior accent lighting. Ford has done it again, this time with the 4 cylinder version of th 2010 Fusion sedan. The car was recently certified by the EPA at 23 city / 34 highway. This ties/beats the current class leaders (Nissan Altima at 23 city, Chevrolet Malibu at 33 highway) and shows that the American’s know how to build class leading cars too.
