2010 Ford Fusion hybrid (Ford)
Ford engineers, along with the help of NASCAR racer Carl Edwards and hyper-miller Wayne Gerdes, are going to attempt to drive 1,000 miles in a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid on a single tank of gas. The route they plan to take winds all over the eastern side of the U.S. taking them from Mount Vernon, VA to Washington DC. Not only is Ford using this as a way to promote how fuel efficient the Fusion Hybrid is, and how you driving technique can go a long way in reducing our dependence on oil, but they are also raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation along the way. 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid: best gas-electric hybrid yet???
You read that right folks. James Healey, writer for USA Today, has just released a review of the 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid and he comes right out and says it, in his opening paragraph. He even goes as far as saying the closest another hybrid comes is the $107,000 Lexus LS 600h hybrid (which posts a much lower EPA mpg rating by the way.) This is truly a huge accomplishment for the team at Ford and just another example of how the Domestic 3 are able to compete – and beat – their foreign competition.
