101 year old man buys a Camaro!!!

A 101 year old man has recently purchased a brand new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.  Virgil Coffman decided he just had to have a Transformers edition 2010 Camaro, and so he went to the dealer and bought one.  I’m not sure people should be driving at the ripe old age of 101, but apparently the dealer went the distance and made sure Mr. Coffman was up to the task of driving an automatic, 400 horsepower muscle car.  Thank you for your purchase Mr. Coffman, America thanks you too!

Hennessey takes the “regular” 2010 Camaro SS and drops in the LS9 from the Corvette ZR1, tweaks it up to 725 horsepower and 741 lb-ft of torque, gives it unique wheels, paint stripe, and mild body kit to create the HP700 you see above.  This incredible machine will make its official debut at SEMA 2009 in Las Vegas, where I will be on hand to offer plenty of pics.  For now, head on over to Autoblog for more and stay tuned!

Canadian women like the 2010 Camaro as much as the boys do!

According to a recent report on Autos Canada, females are purchasing the new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro in numbers close to males, in some cases almost 50-50.  That’s far better than the previous generation Camaro which was selling in more of a 80-20 ratio, guys to girls.  It’s good to see that the new Camaro is bringing a new audience to the Chevy showroom, and hopefully that good news continues.  For more, head on over to Autos Canada.

Lingenfelter bringing Trans Am kit to SEMA for the Camaro

Lingenfelter is now the second company to offer a Trans Am conversion kit for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, after the Phoenix conversion kit.  The Lingenfelter is a tad different in the fact that it replaces the stock 6.2L V8 of the Camaro with a 455 cubic inch 655 horsepower version of its own motor.  Called the Camaro LTA, it’s not a bad looking kit, but me thinks pricing will be a wee bit too high for most of us regular folks.  For more details, head on over to Autoblog.

Right hand drive Camaro available in Austrailia now…sorta…

2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

You would think that since the Camaro is based off GM’s global rear wheel drive architecture that was developed in Australia by Holden that the Camaro would be sold down under too?  Well, think again.  The Aussies drive on the left side of the road, requiring cars there to be right hand drive so, no Camaros are available.  Well, Performax International has come up with a solution!  For the low, low, LOW price of $128,500, they will convert a U.S. spec Camaro into a right hand driver, suitable for the Australian roads.  Even though this price is insane, they have already received 6 orders.  Proof that American Muscle knows no bounds…

It will be at least a year before the production version of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro convertible makes its debut, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait till then to own one.  How’s that possible you might be asking?  Simple, Drop Top Customs from sunny Florida will make you one from your Camaro coupe for the low, low, low price of $18,000!  Check out the video below for more information on how they complete this rather nice looking transformation, on a Dodge Challenger.

For a full gallery of the completed product, head on over to Autoblog.

Service bulletin issued for 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

There are three issues that Camaro owners should probably get checked on their cars.  One involves the spoiler, another the HVAC, and the third the V8 wiring harness.  Oh, there is another issue they should have looked at, involving the headliner causing extreme static for drivers with mullets…just kidding!  Owners are advised to have their cars looked at at their earliest convience, aka this is not a recall.  For more details, head on over to Camaro5.

Potentially the world’s most powerful Camaro…

posted by Stephen @ 21:42 PM
September 22, 2009

Hennessey has decided that the 2010 Camaro SS just didn’t have enough power.  So, they dropped the LS9 in it from the Corvette ZR1 and made a few modifications along the way.  The result?  645 horsepower at the rear wheels, and 653 lb-ft of torque.  Only 24 will be built, so please let me know if there is someone out there who has money and is in need of a kidney.
