2010 Chevrolet Camaro (Supercars.net)

Autoblog has just had it’s first drive in the all new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, and the initial impression is a good one.  They liked both the V6 and V8 SS editions, which says a lot about the vehicle.  Particularly impressive is the 29 mpg rating for the V6, while still haulin’ ass with 304 hp.  For the full review, as well as tons of photos of the car, head on over to Autoblog.

I’m glad to hear positive news on the car thus far, as it will hopefully help yet again to prove that the domestic manufacturers can produce fun to drive cars that still deliver good fuel economy.

2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 (Chrysler)

Many people out there are against vehicles like this.  The 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is actually a pretty incredible vehicle.  It’s fast, handles well, has room for 5 plus their stuff, but still they question: why do you need a go fast SUV?  Well, Autoblog set out to answer that question (and several others) in their week long review of the vehicle.  Surprisingly, even when rated at 13 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, the staff was impressed with the vehicle.  I also happen to like the styling of the truck with the SRT wheels, body modifications and Brembo brakes, plus, who wouldn’t like a 420 hp engine in their car.  For the full review, head on over to Autoblog.

2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid

The 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid is essentially the same as the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid.  Minor exterior and interior changes are all that differentiate the two vehicles.  Which Sam Abuelsamid from Autobloggreen states is a good thing.  It has the same sporty feel of the Fusion, same excellent gas mileage (he averaged 2.4 mpg more in winter driving with the Milan than the Camry Hybrid) and more truck space (1.4 cu ft more than the Camry Hybrid.)  Plus, the Ford twins have a tax credit of $3,400 still available to anyone who buys one before the end of March 2009.  Head on over to Autobloggreen for the full article.

2010 Ford Fiesta

In case you haven’t heard about the Fiesta Movement, it’s an opportunity for 100 lucky winners to receive a new 2010 Ford Fiesta for 6 months free of charge.  The promotion is designed to get word out about the great new products from Ford.  In order to enter, users must submit a video explaining why they deserve a Fiesta.  Entrants must be tech savvy, able to write on blogs, chat on the Internet, or post videos on sites like YouTube, talking about their Fiesta experience.  Tons of videos have been submitted so far, so head on over to the site to check them out.

I think the idea behind this marketing campaign is great, the car is simply amazing for it’s class.  If you haven’t heard about it, check out any of the many European reviews of the car.  It has won awards, as well as accolades from several big names.

Autobloggreen drives the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid

2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid

2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid

When people discuss GM’s green technologies, the one that usually comes up is the Chevrolet Volt.  While an impressive piece of technology, it sadly won’t be available until late 2010.  So, for the time being, another fairly high tech piece of auto is being reviewed, the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid and GMC Sierra Hybrid.  Following the release of their full-size SUV hybrids, GM is continuing to improve the fuel economy of it’s biggest offenders by offering hybrid models of their full-size pickups.  These trucks come in either RWD or 4WD, with varying levels of trim.  Towing is down compared to non-hybrid models, at 6,100 lbs for RWD and 5,900 lbs for 4WD, but the vehicles faired pretty well during Autobloggreen’s evaluation of them.  They managed to get 21.5 mpg with mixed driving.

These hybrids allow GM to further themselves from Toyota and Nissan, who offer hybrids of only their smaller vehicles, while giving them even greater mpg advantages over Toyota and Nissan’s full-size pickups.  Follow the link to read the full review.

2010 Ford Fusion Sport

Ford has been receiving some great reviews lately, and here’s another one:  MSN reviewed the 2010 Ford Fusion in several trim forms and their opinion of the car is a good one.  The article starts off by stating that the Fusion is the reason Ford hasn’t needed taxpayers bailout (BRIDGE LOAN) money yet, stating that it delivers on Ford’s promise to be a world-class midsize sedan.  They also commend Ford for “leapfrogging the competition” with the electronics in the car, such as Sync, available 8-inch touch-screen navigation and customizable interior accent lighting.  Head on over to MSN for the full review.
