Founded on December 7th, 2008, Truth about Domestics was the brainchild of Alexander Mazur and Stephen Panoff. As Ford employees with a passion for the automotive industry, Alex and I have become increasingly tired of listening to all of the uninformed out there who think that the American 3 produce junk cars that no one wants simply because they had a Ford Windstar back in 1995 that crapped out on them. Or their Uncle’s Silverado had a transmission go at 105,000 miles so therefore it must be junk.
Sure the D3 made mistakes, but as you will see on this website, so have the foreign automakers. Over the years the D3 have made huge strides in improving quality, fuel efficiency, safety and vehicle content, but people don’t seem to know it, so here we are! This blog was created to debunk the myths that surround the auto industry, and to hopefully quell arguments that start with an article about the D3′s financial troubles and end with someone telling a story about how their Toyota Camry ran for 10 years without ever needing an oil change or a gas fill up EVER and that’s why they refuse to buy American.
